Market statistics

Price movement is a matched basket of model years. For each model we compare the median price within a single year — 2015 against 2015, 2016 against 2016 — and only then combine those differences, weighted by the number of matched listings. A model appears on the leaderboard once it has at least five such years, thirty matched pairs, and a basket median of at least €1,500.

Why the complexity: comparing a model's overall median between two months mostly measures which cars happened to be advertised. At ten to fifty listings a month the mix completely dominates the price, so that kind of leaderboard is not a list of market movements but a list of sampling accidents.

"Sold" means the advert disappeared from avto.net. A withdrawn advert is indistinguishable from a sale, so this is a proxy — but the error applies roughly equally across models, so the ranking still holds.

Days-to-sell is measured on cars that actually sold within the last 30 days. Cars that have been sitting in the adverts for half a year and still have not sold do not count towards it, so a seller's real average wait is longer than the figure shown.

Collection began on 7 May 2026, and the first two days are a capture of the entire standing inventory rather than that day's new listings. Those two days are excluded from every calculation here. This is also why six-month and one-year comparisons cannot be produced yet — they will appear on their own once the history is long enough.

Prices are always asking prices from the advert, never achieved sale prices. Those are not public in Slovenia.

Duplicate adverts for the same vehicle are excluded; only the primary advert counts.
